After almost two hours of experts on the nuclear crisis building in North Korea, it was time to hear from the listeners.
Lots of experts discussed the latest developments out of North Korea. Military documentarian Robert Kaplan, author of a great article in the Atlantic Monthly on North Korea, started the hour with Hugh. He was followed by retired Army Colonel Austin Bay, House Rules Committee Chairman David Dreier, and Foundation For the Defense of Democracies Fellow, Claudia Rosett.
North Korea was the topic of the day. Joining Hugh was Dan Poneman of the Scowcroft Group, author of Going Critical. Dan was involved in the 1994 agreement with North Korea that was apparently violated the next day. Later in the hour, Frank Gaffney of the Center For Security Policy gave another viewpoint of the crisis.
After two days of request to appear on the program, Mr. Black consented to appear, and Hugh and he engaged in a long interview dissecting the appropriateness of the ad, the appropriateness of the coverage of the ad by the Strib, and appropriateness of disclosing biases in the newsroom in general.

Emmett of the Unblinking Eye joined Hugh with his top ten list this week. The subject? The top ten counter-attack movies of all time.
Fox News contributors Morton Kondracke and Bill Sammon started the hour discussing the fallout and impact of Foleygate. Ohio gubernatorial candidate Ken Blackwell joined Hugh, as did Colorado gubernatorial candidate Bob Beauprez. And Congressman John Campbell rounded out the hour.
This hour featured a long-form interview with Minneapolis Start Tribune reporter and blogger, Eric Black. Eric’s coverage of the Patty Wetterling campaign ad this week in Minnesota’s 6th Congressional district was the subject of much controversy, and part of it included Mr. Black’s coverage of the story.
Once again, Steyn shows why he’s one of the most widely read columnists in the world. He gets right to the point on the scandal, and what the impact, if any, it will have on the election this November.
Retired JAG officer, Captain Brian Rooney, also the grandson of the Pittsburgh Steeler Rooney family, joined Hugh in studio. Later in the hour, Hugh and regular Thursday guest James Lileks crossed swords a bit over Minneapolis Star Tribune reporter Eric Black’s treatment, or non-treatment, of the false Patty Wetterling ad.
