Fred Barnes and Mort Kondracke kicked off the second hour from the California Speedway/NASCAR edition of the show today. Former car guy and current Congressman, John Campbell joined Hugh later in the hour, as did San Bernardino County Supervisor Paul Biane.
It’s the NASCAR show, live from the California Speedway in Fontana. Joining Hugh this hour is Greg Gollands, the national NASCAR marketing director for Toyota. Later in the hour, Speedway president Gillian Zucker, and Ohio gubernatorial candidate, Ken Blackwell.
After a month-long Australian walkabout, the columnist to the world returns to discuss his Rush Limbaugh guest host adventure, Iran, Iraq, the Democrats just getting nuttier, jiggling his flabby chest to Aaron Spelling.
Matt Cunningham and Jon Fleischman, two Southern California bloggers, talked about a California State Senate bill that would prevent the sale of a PBS television station on a college campus to a higher bidding Christian company, because they are Christian. Also heard was a replay of the Mark Steyn interview that started the show.
Frank Gaffney from the Center For Security Policy joined Hugh this hour to discuss the Khatami visa, the president’s speech today, and the need for this administration to take the war on terror more seriously.
Mark Steyn returned to the Hugh Hewitt airwaves, and spent three segments to catch up on a lot of news and cultural happenings since he last appeared.
Hugh replayed his interview with Christopher Hitchens, then did news and took calls from the listeners.
Minnesota Congressional candidate Michelle Bachman joined Hugh from the AM1280 The Patriot booth at the Minnesota State Fair. Joining her was House Majority Whip, Roy Blunt.
Vanity Fair columnist Christopher Hitchens spent the first half of the Wednesday show with Hugh, discussing Hitchens’ appearance last week on Bill Maher’s program, plus the revelation of Richard Armitage’s involvement in the Valerie Plame outing. The second half of the hour was spent with legendary Notre Dame football coach, Ara Parseghian.
